Prof. Mike Ashfold FRS and I have just completed a successful 3 week visiting fellowship to the new Dalian Coherent Light Source, where we’ve had the honour of being the first visitors to use this unique vacuum ultraviolet free electron laser. We’re very lucky to have worked at this state-of-the-art facility with a group of the world’s most skilled and welcoming dynamicists. Stay tuned as the results make it to press!
Prof. Mike Ashfold FRS and I have begun our Chinese Academy of Science visiting fellowships at the Dalian Coherent Light Source where we’re the first ever external users and the first ever ion imagers. Looking forward to three weeks of H Rydberg atom tagging and ion imaging on the world’s brightest source of VUV light!
Great news! I’ve been invited as a visiting fellow to work at the Dalian Coherent Light Source during April and May.
I’ve been awarded a writing fellowship worth $5k to visit the University of New South Wales in January 2018 to work with Prof. Scott Kable in preparing a proposal for a Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (early career fellowship).
I’ve been accepted for a talk slot at the meeting of the RSC’s Spectroscopy & Dynamics Group to be held at Durham in January.
I’ve just accepted an invitation to talk at the kick-off event for the CHemistry And Mathematics in Phase Space (CHAMPS) programme at the Watershed in Bristol across Jan. 15-16.
Alongside Profs. Arthur Suits (U. Missouri), Daniel Rolles (Kansas State) and others, I presented an invited lecture on multi-mass velocity-map imaging at a half-day symposium on Emerging Techniques in Chemical Dynamics at the University of Bristol.
The 2017 meeting of the Southern Universities Spectroscopy and Dynamics Group (SUSDG), convened at Bristol by Mitchell Quinn and myself, was a resounding success. The meeting ran from September 7-8, featured 26 talks and the participation of 40+ young researchers from across England.
Our Perspective on “Exploring the Dynamics of the Photoinduced Ring-Opening of Heterocyclic Molecules” appears online in J. Phys. Chem. Lett. Check it out here.
I’ve been allocated a hot topic talk at the Dynamics of Molecular Collisions meeting in Lake Tahoe this July!
