I’ve returned from a week of free electron laser beamtime at the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron in Hamburg. My colleague from Bristol, Rebecca Ingle, and I contributed to a collaboration spanning the globe and committed to unambiguously characterising ring-opening photochemistry in the gas-phase.
